start> Becoming a Good Samaritan was a labor of love for us. It is the first project that we authored from scratch – generating the original curriculum concept, selling the idea to the publisher and developing all of the product pieces, including trademarks, logos, copy, marketing, website, workbook and leader guides and a short novel.
We were blessed to partner with World Vision who helped us connect with over 60 well-known and respected Christian leaders from all over the world, each whom graciously consented to being interviewed for their individual take and understanding of the parable of the Good Samaritan.
This is just a partial list of some of the people who appeared on this project- Eugene Peterson, Philip Yancey, Matthew Sleeth, Jim Cymbala, Chuck Colson, Joni Eareckson Tada, Jim Cymbala, Desmond Tutu, Gary Haugen, Lynne Hybels, Mike Huckabee, Francis Collins, Kay Warren and many more.
We hoped we were creating something meaningful. We wanted to teach people that right now, right where they lived… they could make a difference. And we knew that you can’t make a difference if you don’t start>. Even designing and build a curriculum!
Well, we didn’t change the world, but we did make a difference. The stories of compassion and hope shared with us from people all over the country who had experienced start> reassured us that the work we do is important and the stories we tell do change lives. And that’s the most humbling and gratifying work experience we could ever imagine.
